Chocolate-Coated Frog

Cooking has become one of my hobbies. To learn some delicious recipes I contacted Rosmerta. As per her appointment date I went to her mansion last Sunday and enjoyed cooking with her. I may upload few of her recipes every now and then, just so I can take a quick glance if I forget any subtle detail. Today I'm writing the recipe of 'Chocolate-Coated Frogs'-

These chocolate-covered frogs may not hop on the table, but they most certainly will in your stomach! Many thanks to Rosmerta!

Ingredients:
  • Gummy Frogs
  • semi-sweet milk chocolate pieces (can be substituted with white or dark chocolate, depending on your taste)
Directions:

Step 1: Cover a plate with wax paper. This will be used later, after the frogs are dipped.

Step 2: Place chocolate pieces into a microwave safe bowl, and place bowl in microwave. Heat at a medium heat in thirty second intervals, stirring after each one, until the chocolate is completely melted. Be careful not to burn it!

Step 3: Carefully dip the back end of a gummy frog into the chocolate. Place dipped frog onto the wax paper-covered plate.

Step 4: Repeat step 3 with the remaining gummy frogs.

Step 5: Place the plate of dipped frogs into refrigerator, until the chocolate hardens.

Note: If you're holding a magical gathering, dip larger gummy frogs, and turn them into unique (and delicious) placecards! Design "wizard cards" with each of your guests names on them. At each seat, place the respective card, along with a dipped frog!

Alright, now here is a little surprise for you all; the recipe of the most famous drink from the Three Broomsticks! Yes, Butterbeer!! *grins* Here it comes...

Butterbeer! It warms you up AND tastes great. Now in take-away form from The Three Broomsticks. (Many thanks to Melissa for this recipe!)

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup (8 oz) club soda or cream soda
  • ½ cup (4 oz) butterscotch syrup (ice cream topping)
  • ½ tablespoon butter
Directions:

Step 1: Measure butterscotch and butter into a 2 cup (16 oz) glass. Microwave on high for 1 to 1½ minutes, or until syrup is bubbly and butter is completely incorporated.

Step 2: Stir and cool for 30 seconds, then slowly mix in club soda. Mixture will fizz quite a bit.

Step 3: Serve in two coffee mugs or small glasses; a perfectly warm Hogwarts treat for two!

I made them the day after and served my parents and sister. I must say, they admitted (yes even Petunia did too) magical food and beverages not only have extra ordinary names but also unusually good taste.

  1. This is cool! Thanks for sharing :) Oh, it also shows that there are no difference between women -'muggle' or 'witch'.

  2. What a lovely blog you have, indeed! Funny that I myself posted many "Magical Recipes" for my own blog just a few days ago, but only to the one that is not in English. Perhaps I translate them later. Those Chocolate Frogs sound delicious, I might try them someday.
